The Society of Geriatric Cardiology 14th Annual Scientific Session: Summit on Challenges and Emerging Issues for Cardiovascular

1. To review physiological and clinical implications of aging, the
close associations of aging to cardiovascular disease, and the
impact of aging processes on functional capacity and quality of
life in older adults.

2. To understand the political, social, and financial implications of
cardiovascular aging, and the related burdens to the United
States as our population ages.

3. To understand strategies to modify aging patterns, and to
thereby optimize health parameters, particularly cardiovascular
health, in spite of the pressures created by aging.
