The University of New Mexico Scholarship Office administers the majority of Scholarships at the University.
Scholarships are traditionally known as merit based, and a competitive process usually accompanies the activities surrounding selection and monitoring of the various programs.
Major responsibilities and duties within the scholarship structure deal with the formation of student programs and the administration of these programs.
Specifically, there are three major scholarship functions for which this office is responsible:
* Institutional Scholarships include, but are not limited to: the Regents', Presidential, UNM Scholars, Omega, PACE, Transfer Scholarships, NM Scholars and Amigo. These programs are funded by several methods, including outside private donations;
* Departmental Scholarships are selected at the department levels, but the actual student awarding and administration is handled within this office;
* Private and Outside Scholarships include hundreds of programs which flow through our process. These programs are also selected by outside mechanisms, but are ultimately included in our financial aid/scholarship process.
Admissions Requirements:
At UNM, we have established the following scholastic standards for student admission. If you meet these standards, you are a strong candidate for admission to UNM based on your own academic merit and test scores. If not, you may still potentially be considered for admission based on other factors.
