Mortgage Development Officer

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Solicit mortgage loans, interview applicants to obtain pertinent information regarding their loan needs and initiate the lending decision process
* Develop and cultivate self generated referral sources
* Assist in coordinating marketing and training programs, prepare marketing plans and cross sell other bank products and services.
* Develop referral sources for mortgages through partnerships with retail branches, as well as other Sovereign departments, to cross sell Bank products.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience/Qualifications:
* 2+ years of Retail Mortgage lending experience is required
* PC proficiency and residential mortgage origination, FHA, VA and conventional experience required. As part of our program, we offer a 1% commission on closed FHA loans
* Knowledge of mortgage loan regulatory requirements, residential products and functions also required
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven sales track record
* Ability to assess financial needs and the ability to work with minimal supervision is essential
