John Peter Smith Hospital is a teaching hospital that is licensed for 429 beds with a Level II Trauma Center and a Level III NICU. It is a part of JPS Health Network, which the 2007 Dallas Business Journal Book of Lists has recognized as the 8th Largest Metroplex Hospital. John Peter Smith Hospital is part of the JPS Health Network, which Modern Healthcare Magazine has recognized in its centennial year as one of the top 100 integrated health care networks in the country. This recognition is based on performance in areas including outpatient utilization, service access, and variety of services, inpatient utilization, financial stability and coordination of key functions throughout the organization. At John Peter Smith Hospital special services include: Trauma: JPSH is a certified Level II trauma center Intensive care: for adults and newborns Healing Wings: AIDS treatment center Inpatient care: for patients of all ages OB/Gyn: services to meet needs of women - all private labor and delivery rooms Trinity Springs Pavilion is located on the network's main campus. Trinity Springs is a psychiatric facility that is utilized for crisis stabilization, short-term treatment and family education. JPS also has a psychiatric emergency center in John Peter Smith Hospital and operates a partial hospitalization program that is designed to help patients function within their homes and communities. The new patient tower currently under construction across from John Peter Smith Hospital and our new hospital in Arlington take us into our next era.
