Dichos and Modern Applications

I have worked in manufacturing for US, French and Canadian companies in Mexico for 25 years. Training has been part of my work. I have gotten a real kick at discovering that there are "dichos" that relate directly to industry. After conducting a session on decision strategies someone in the class came out with this one: "Mejor una vez colorado que mil veces descolorido". It fit perfectly with the course. Another session dealt with what's called "root cause analysis" which deals with finding the basis of problems. This time the "dicho" was: "Si no le pones agua a los frijoles se te van a quemar". It seems that what people are calling modern manufacturing techniques today have been part of Latin lore for centuries.
